Ingredients

½ cup cherry liqueur (such as Luxardo®)
½ cup cherry juice
2 tablespoons superfine sugar
1 vanilla bean, split
2 cups pitted cherries
¼ cup bourbon, or more to taste

Directions

  1. Place cherry liqueur, cherry juice, sugar, and vanilla bean into a saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil, continue to boil until sugar dissolves completely, 3 to 4 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and immediately dump cherries in. Let cool, about 10 minutes. Stir in bourbon.

  3. Place into glass jars and keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
