Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package orecchiette pasta
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
2 bunches mustard greens, stemmed and coarsely chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup bread crumbs, or to taste
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook orecchiette in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 12 to 14 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, cook and stir sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add mustard greens, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook and stir until mustard greens wilt, about 2 minutes.

  3. Drain orecchiette and stir into the sausage mixture. Remove from heat.

  4. Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add bread crumbs, cook and stir until toasted, 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle bread crumbs over pasta. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
