1 cup shortening
½ cup cold water, or more as needed
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon Irish cream liqueur (such as Bailey's Irish Cream®)
1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Beat 1/2 of the confectioner's sugar, shortening, cold water, cocoa powder, Irish cream liqueur, vanilla extract, and salt together in a bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 8 minutes. Beat in the remaining confectioner's sugar. If necessary, add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, to reach desired consistency.

This chocolate frosting is by far the best I've ever eaten. The secret is the Bailey's®. It has a terrific consistency, and will make any cake or cupcakes an extra special lick the fork clean treat!
