1 (15 ounce) can new potatoes, drained and quartered
1 onion, chopped
1 cup chopped carrot
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 cup dry red wine
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix (such as Lipton®)
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water

Directions

  1. Put beef stew meat, potatoes, onion, and carrot in the crock of a slow cooker. Add tomato sauce, water, red wine, beef bouillon cubes, onion soup mix, rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture, stir gently.

  2. Whisk cornstarch into water until dissolved, stir gently into the beef mixture.

  3. Cook on High for 4 hours.
