Directions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 1/2 cup half-and-half, brown sugar, and corn syrup, bring to a boil. Boil, without stirring, until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from water and placed on a flat surface, about 5 minutes. Stir in remaining half-and-half and vanilla extract.
