1 clove garlic, minced
1 pinch red pepper flakes
2 fresh figs, each cut into 4 wedges
1 ½ tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 pound fresh pizza dough
1 (8 ounce) package fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
4 thin slices prosciutto di Parma
salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 leaves fresh basil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Dust a pizza stone with 2 tablespoons flour.

  2. Combine 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.

  3. Place figs in a separate bowl and sprinkle with balsamic vinegar.

  4. Stretch dough into a 12-inch circle on the stone. Spread the olive oil mixture on the dough. Add the figs and mozzarella cheese.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until crust is lightly browned, about 12 minutes.

  6. Remove pizza from oven and top with prosciutto. Let rest for 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with basil and slice.
